Follow the Lab Agreement
This covers acceptable behavior, info-hazards, authorship & contributions, sharing funding, and our expectations of people working in the Apart Studio and any of Apart’s fellowships
- You should have already signed, or be in the process of signing, the Lab Agreement
Motivation
We want to see meaningful engagement from our teams, this means:
- While in the Studio, scheduling Studio Hours — independently or as a team; at least once throughout the Studio
- While in the Fellowship, have recurring weekly check-ins with your entire team (including mentors and project managers) with an agenda determined and run by the team
- Completing Filling Out Weekly Progress Forms — each week
Time
We have seen teams who put in more time have stronger outputs, and when not enough time is allocated to the lab, the deliverables suffer
- You should be able to spend at least 10 hours per week on your Apart Lab work
- If your team has less than 3 people, it is likely you will need to spend more time
Communication
To make up for the distributed nature of Apart, you will need to be on top of communications:
- Read and follow through with all posts you are tagged in, including when a group you are part of is tagged in the Studio general chat

Commitment to Accessibility
If you cannot meet these expectations — routinely, or at any point during the Studio — please send a message to someone on the Apart Team to let us know.
We want you to succeed, and we understand that life happens. We will work with you to figure out the best path forward.
